When you head North of the Suncoast Casino past the Bay of Plenty, you enter the durban North Coast Beach zone. Keep heading up the winding coastal stretch past Battery Beach and Country Club Beach, until you will come to an idyllic paradise, that is Umhlanga Beach. This is the midpoint of the Durban North stretch of beaches. The lively and family orientated beach is a swath of beautiful white sand. The moderate ocean temperatures are great for sea swimming, boogey boarding, surfing, bustling rock pools and tidal pools if you prefer swimming in calmer waters.
